Abhinandan made people of TN proud: Piyush Goyal

Railways Minister Piyush Goyal has said Wing Commander Abhinandan, who was released from captivity by Pakistan, said the brave solider made all Indians proud, particularly the people of Tamil Nadu. Speaking at a function to launch a slew of projects in Tamil Nadu, including laying the foundation stone for the 36 km Dharmapuri–Morappur new Railway Line at a function held at Dharmapuri, he said that India would give a fitting reply to terrorists and terrorism.

He said rail coach maker Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has made a mark with its modern trains under Make in India campaign, making the country proud. Stating that the era of importing will be over soon and the exporting will start, he added the new line between Dharmapuri and Morappur would commence immediately and completed at the earliest.

The Minister said  that the doubling and electrification of the Hosur–Bangalore section  has been sanctioned and connected to Salem via Dharmapuri. He said the Chennai-Palakkad Superfast express would have stoppage at Morappur considering the request of people of Dharmapuri.

He also participated in a function at Chennai Egmore through video-conferencing and announced extension of Tambaram–Tirunelveli Antyodaya express to Nagercoil and also flagged off Chennai Egmore–Kollam daily express in the presence of state Ministers and senior officials of the Southern Railway.
