The new terminal of the Chennai airport has been witnessing glass breaks for some years. Adding one more to the tally was the incident of glass break, which created flutter at the high security zone today. However, no one was injured in the incident, sources said. This is the 85th glass breaking incident.
The glass at domestic departure terminal broke. The place was immediately cleaned up and officials conducted investigations, sources said. Remember a couple opf years ago the NHRC had issued notices to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airport Authority of India. This after SK Saamy, a Supreme Court lawyer filed a petition following the 61st incident of the airport’s glass ceiling falling.
